PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of this work and updated Ministry of Transportation requirements, a valid Tow Truck Certificate is required. Applicants must provide proof of certification, including the expiry date. A clean driver's abstract is also required and verification will be completed through Service Ontario.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and skilled Tow Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely towing vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring timely vehicle deliveries within our network. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operations, mechanical systems, and the ability to handle a variety of situations with professionalism and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine deliveries, towing, and vehicle transport throughout London, Ontario and surrounding areas.
- Complete pre‑trip inspections, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure fuel levels remain above half.
- Keep tow trucks clean and in good working condition, including interiors, exteriors, and all towing equipment (winches, cables, tie‑downs).
- Secure the storage yard when entering or leaving as required.
- Prepare clear and detailed service reports for each job and maintain accurate driver logs.
- Operate vehicles responsibly and in compliance with all traffic laws, MTO guidelines, and company safety policies.
- Wear provided PPE at all times and maintain required certifications through regular training.
- Support team operations by assisting with training new staff when requested.
- Help with general site duties such as organizing the parking lot, relocating total‑loss vehicles, removing license plates, picking up parts, or aiding in cleanup and maintenance.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold customer service standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, co‑workers, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
- Take initiative during downtime and contribute to a safe, respectful, and productive workplace.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and support overall towing operations.
- Safely return tow truck to yard at the end of every shift and secure overnight.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Ontario driver's license (class D preferred) with a clean driving abstract.
- Valid Tow Truck Certificate issued by the MTO is required and will be verified.
- Experience operating a tow truck in a professional setting.
- Ability to drive manual, electric and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Thorough knowledge of proper towing procedures and roadside assistance best practices.
- Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
