The Clinical Operations Director is the care team director with the administration and operational oversight of the Behavioral Health program, which is integrated into the other services provided by Horizon Health. This individual embraces a team-based approach and is competent to function as an integral part of the patient health care team to improve outcomes for patients. Will provide leadership, consultation, direction, and training to design and implement care programs throughout appropriate sites.
Collaboration with the other directors within the organization to enhance the behavioral health program is essential as well as creating strategies and developing specific department/ organizational goals for the behavioral health team. The scope of this role is broad and requires an experienced, strong leader with the ability to plan, coordinate, implement, and assess the progress of the treatment program.
- Understands and promotes the mission, vision, and values of Horizon Health both in the workplace and the community.
- Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health conditions.
- Using evidence- based medicine and population health methodologies to further develop and expand our behavioral health program. Responsible for planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of the department in entirety to include all goals and progress.
- Excellent knowledge of social determinants of population served.
- Provides supervision and mentoring to staff who provide behavioral health and other services to assist professional growth and development.
- Provide direct supervision of medical staff and Clinical Therapists to include Licensed Clinical Social Workers, masters level social workers, masters level clinical psychologists, and LPCCs.
- Collaborates with medical providers on program quality measures and outcomes with regards to evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health treatment.
- Establishes and leads regular staff meetings to maintain open communication and information/updates between location sites.
- Ensures all team members of the program comply with all guidelines established by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid) and other governing bodies.
- Provide direction of the department to include budgets, policies and procedures, goals, objectives, and all other functions of the department.
- Provide support and supervision for MAT programs at every site within the organization.
- Addresses emergency situations, applying interventions and promotes a safe and healthy environment.
- Evaluation and resolution of patient complaints in conjunction with appropriate department.
- Establish and maintain professional rapport with patients, providers, and other team members.
- Auditing patient records to ensure compliance and documentation is complete, appropriate, and timely.
- Maintains all tracking and quality reporting as outlined by the organization.
- Attends all leadership meetings to report program goals and progress.
- Completes all supervised Behavioral Health staff job performance evaluations.
- Participates in staff recruitment, interviews, and retention.
- Develops scheduling of staff while managing time off requests, time keeping, timecard approval, and after-hours coverage.
- Works in conjunction with leadership and program staff to monitor and improve quality clinical services including utilization review, quality assurance, and clinical protocol development.
- Consult with providers and team leads/directors to develop assessment and treatment protocols.
- Design and implement formal training programs relative to specific topics on integrated care for primary care and behavioral health providers/staff.
- Responsible for the development of clinical curriculum, administrative tools, and collaboration with education institutions for internship/externship programs.
- Requires travel to other clinic sites to assist with all services.
