TheOpportunity
Pole Star Global is looking for a commercially driven sales professional to take ownership of our growing data products within the maritime market. This role is about turning powerful maritime data into real commercial outcomes winning new business, expanding existing accounts, and helping customers unlock value from data driven insights.
You’ll sit at the heart of the business, working closely with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to shape how our data solutions are positioned, sold, and adopted. You’ll be front and centre with customers leading commercial conversations, demonstrating value, and driving revenue through insight led solution selling.
Responsibilities Sales & Commercial Delivery- Sell Pole Star’s data and analytics products to new and existing customers, supporting revenue growth and retention.
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from qualification to close.
- Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Engage with customers to understand their operational and commercial needs within the maritime sector.
- Position Pole Star’s data products as practical solutions to customer challenges.
- Act as a knowledgeable point of contact for customers, supporting product demonstrations and commercial discussions.
- Use dashboards, reports, and data outputs to support sales conversations and demonstrate value to customers.
- Work with internal teams to ensure customer‑facing insights are accurate, relevant, and clearly presented.
- Help customers understand trends, performance metrics, and how data can support decision‑making.
- Work closely with Product, Technology, Marketing, and Sales teams to support deal progression and customer success.
- Provide structured customer feedback to help improve data products and commercial messaging.
- Support the creation of sales materials, case studies, and proposals.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline information and forecasts.
- Track performance against sales targets and agreed KPIs.
- Support reporting on deal progress and customer usage where required.
- 5+ years proven experience in B2B sales or commercial roles, ideally selling maritime data, SaaS, or technology‑enabled solutions.
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities and customer relationships simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, pipelines, and revenue targets.
- Confident working with data products, dashboards, and reports in a commercial context.
- Able to interpret and explain insights to customers without needing to build or query data directly.
- Familiarity with SQL and BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) or similar platforms are helpful but not essential.
- Clear and confident communicator with non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
- Well organised, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred
