Overview
Join to apply for the Psychologist - role at Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC).
Starting pay is approximately $86,000 based on location. DRC is a “qualifying employer” for purposes of the federal Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness program. License to practice psychology as issued by Ohio State Board of Psychology per Section 4732.12 or 4732.15 (A) of Ohio Revised Code.
Responsibilities- Administers, scores and interprets psychometric tests as requested as part of treatment needs for specific diagnoses, treatment and psychological individual and group interventions
- Administers, scores and interprets individual psychological tests or test batteries for crisis intervention, neuropsychological issues, risk assessment, severe behavioral management cases, treatment, and programming
- Participates in hearings as assigned and assessments for potential suicide
- As a member of the interdisciplinary team, responsible for development and implementation of mental health interventions for a caseload of offenders/patients with mental illness
- Conducts individual and group clinical interventions as prescribed on the individual mental health treatment plan
- Provides mental health liaison services to an assigned caseload, including monitoring of offender compliance with the mental health treatment plan
- Completes detailed screens, mental health evaluations and crisis services within their scope of practice
- Serves as treatment team coordinator
- Acts as lead worker over lower-level psychological services staff and provides clinical supervision to psychology assistants and interns in accordance with the State Board of Psychology rules
- Writes reports and/or documents including offender contacts, mental health liaison progress notes, discharge plans and miscellaneous forms
- Completes psychosocial needs and treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning
- Completes transfer and discharge summaries and pre-parole clinical risk assessments and treatment summaries
- Consults with other institution staff regarding the mental health caseload and service needs
- Participates in peer review and attends psychology clinical case consultation meetings
- Attends and instructs in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
- Conducts expert-witness assessments as needed

- License to practice psychology as issued by Ohio State Board of Psychology per Section 4732.12 or 4732.15 (A) of Ohio Revised Code
- Ability to conduct psychosocial assessments and provide individual and group interventions within scope of practice
- Clinical supervision responsibilities for psychology assistants and interns as permitted by rules
- Strong documentation, communication and interprofessional collaboration skills
