Posting:
School District Transportation Supervisor for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year, effective immediately. Located in Madison County, Ohio, approximately 40 miles southwest of Columbus, Ohio, a short drive off of Interstate 71.
Job Objective
:
Supervises, plans, coordinates, oversees, and administers all aspects of the District’s transportation department, working to ensure the department runs safely, effectively, and efficiently. Builds positive relationships with all stakeholders, including drivers, students, parents, teachers, administrative staff, and the Board of Education.
- Previous experience as a transportation supervisor is preferred
- Previous experience as a school bus driver is preferred
- Currently holding all relevant CDL licenses and endorsements necessary to drive a school bus with students on board is preferred. If the candidate does not have this, they will be required to obtain it to remain employed.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Versatrans or similar routing software is preferred
- Thorough knowledge of school district transportation rules, regulations, and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of school district transportation department daily operations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information
- Current documentation of clear criminal history via FBI/BCI background checks
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm in stressful, demanding situations
- Demonstrated ability to build positive, appropriate, professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and students
- Demonstrated ability to hold people accountable in a professional manner
- Willingness and ability to drive on District roads in inclement weather (e.g., snow, ice, fog, etc.) to determine safety and feasibility of transporting students to school in early morning, pre-dawn hours and occasionally on weekends
- Willingness to work long hours, including early mornings
- Demonstrated ability to remain focused and produce quality work in an environment with frequent interruptions
- Ability to learn new skills and perform new job functions as work environment changes
- Demonstrated ability to think outside-the-box with challenging situations
