Position: Accounting Job - GL Accountant and Process Specialist

Title: GL Accountant and Process Specialist

Salary: Up to £56,000 per annum

Location: London

Job status: Permanent

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Start date: ASAP

GL Accountant and Process Specialist - Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date GL records supported by solid and auditable back up documentation.
  • Ensure completion and correctness of balance sheet key reconciliations: AR, AP, Stock and Fixed Assets subledger.
  • Handling large amount of accounting data to produce management information and company’s internal (and external) financial reports.
  • Recommend and deploy best practices in credit control: credit evaluation and application processing, credit limit setting, credit monitoring and Control, cash collections procedures, etc.
  • Collaborate with Logistics team for completeness of revenue and margins, timely recognition of sales and purchases, and full reconciliation with underlying subledger information.
  • Reviewing, analysing, and setting standard costs of company’s inventories.
  • Opex control (i.e:
    Liaise effectively with all departments members to receive all the expenditure documents at due time to perform the closing periods in a timely manner)
  • Elaborate monthly Intercompany reconciliations and resolve potential discrepancies as part of month end process.
  • Provide full insights on main Balance Sheet & Profit & Loss variations as part of month end closing.
  • Setting control and procedures to create, change or eliminate master data (i.e: ensuring in the accounting integration of new products into the internal accounting structure and systems)
  • Assist in preparation of budget and performance forecast.
  • Participate in finance meetings.
  • Respond to accounting queries and issues arising
  • Ensure full compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Interact with auditors and assist with the preparation and documentation to support both internal and external audits.
  • Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to increase efficiency by reducing lead time, costs and optimize profits.
  • Leading and/or participating in projects related to data enhancement, business intelligence, digitalization of admin and financial processes, etc.
  • Accountable for insurance management:
    Policy administration, claim management, premium collection and accounting, etc.
Requirements:
  • Qualified/part qualified (i.e: ACCA / CIMA)
  • Relevant working experience of accounting & finance
  • Fluent in English is a must while Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Able to work independently without supervision.
  • As part of small team, it is highly desirable a flexible attitude with a willingness to take on a varied and evolving role.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a small, multicultural team.
  • Process and IT oriented accountant with former experience on digitalization of internal processes.
  • Proven experience with Business Intelligence solutions
  • Being familiar with automated Order-to-Pay solutions and processes is highly desirable.
  • Work closely and effectively with the rest of the team to ensure staff balance of workload.
  • Proven experience with SAP ERP (FICO Module)
  • Advanced user with Excel and Power Point
  • Familiarization with Business Intelligence solutions (Sap Analytics on Cloud)
  • Financial Management and Reporting ( Iga Client / DIVA)
  • Have right to work in the country they will work (either UK or Spain)
