Group Technical Accounting Manager | London | £100k plus bonus
Are you a technically exceptional accountant looking to step into a high-impact role at a large, international organisation?
We're partnering with a prominent, fast-growing global group to find a Group Technical Accounting Manager who will serve as the go-to expert on all things technical accounting, with a particular focus on M&A activity, acquisitions, disposals and restructuring.
The RoleSitting within a well-established team you'll take ownership of technical accounting across a diverse international group. This is a genuine subject matter expert position with real breadth and visibility at senior leadership level.
Key Responsibilities- Lead technical accounting support for M&A transactions, including due diligence, acquisition accounting, disposals, and post-deal integration
- Interpret and apply IFRS and UK GAAP to complex transactions across the group and its subsidiaries
- Prepare and own technical accounting papers and position papers for senior management and the audit committee
- Develop and maintain the Group Accounting Policy Manual and drive compliance across the business
- Lead preparation of significant judgement and estimate memos, and act as primary liaison for external audit on technical matters
- Assess accounting impacts of new commercial arrangements and strategic initiatives
- Support the preparation and review of consolidated group financial statements
- Manage statutory accounts for head office subsidiaries under FRS
101/FRS
102 - Provide technical mentorship and training to wider finance teams
- ACA/ACCA qualified with a Big 4 or Top 10 audit background strongly preferred
- Deep expertise across IFRS and UK GAAP with hands-on consolidation experience
- Proven track record in a Group Reporting or Technical Accounting role within a large, international organisation.
- Industry experience is a must (will consider those who have been on a secondment)
- Strong experience across complex areas: acquisitions, revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, impairments
- Exceptional communicator able to distil complex technical matters for non-technical stakeholders
