Make your career count

At Price Bailey, we provide exciting opportunities for training, personal growth and career engagement. We believe in fostering happiness and fulfilment in your work, whilst supporting and inspiring you to grow. We understand that your life extends beyond the workplace, which is why our Smart Working culture promotes flexibility, allowing you to choose when and where you work, whilst still providing excellent client care.

We are a well-established, independently owned firm of chartered accountants and business advisors, offering a comprehensive range of services including audit, accounting, tax, and corporate finance. We proudly support a diverse client base across the UK and internationally, with a strong focus on entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses that share our passion for innovation.

What do the team do?

Our Outsourcing department is rapidly evolving and has quadrupled in size over the past two years to meet the needs of its ever growing portfolio of clients, with further expansion plans in place as the team continues to grow. They typically work with moderately sized firms from a plethora of sectors that require our external expertise to help support them with operating their finance functions.

This can be on specific elements, such as data-entry and maintaining their books and records, support with VAT compliance, through to providing them with insightful management accounts. We can also offer a fully outsourced finance solution, which encompasses all aspects of an internal finance function.

We have a relationship centric approach and are trusted advisors to clients of all shapes and sizes, but they are typically owner managed businesses, giving you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision makers and to truly help shape the direction of their firm.

What will I be doing?

As a Senior Management Accountant you will have ownership of the following tasks:

  • Taking responsibility of the timely delivery of outsourcing services for a small portfolio of clients, using the resources available in the team.
  • Overseeing and reviewing of bookkeeping, CIS and VAT returns and supplier payment runs.
  • Preparing and reviewing of monthly/quarterly management accounting, bespoke to different clients including cash and P&L forecasting where appropriate.
  • Displaying and applying in-depth knowledge of VAT, including the preparation and review of more complex VAT returns and assisting junior colleagues with preparing VAT returns and management accounts.
  • Demonstrating a reliably high level of competence in both processing the client's books and records and reviewing the processing of others.
What experience do I need?

Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA finalist or fully qualified (minimum criteria).
  • Experience using cloud-based accounting systems, such as Xero (minimum criteria).
  • Experience in compiling management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Patient and positive in staff training.
  • Confident, articulate and an effective communicator at all levels.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Additional accounting systems and add-ons knowledge preferable.
What's on offer?

In addition to your salary, we also offer the following benefits:

  • 23 (if studying)/25 days annual leave (with the option to buy/sell up to 5 days holiday)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • 4x life assurance
  • All employee share scheme
