Bookkeeper

Sheridan Maine London seeks a Bookkeeper for a permanent, full‑time role based in Central London.

The role involves managing bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio across multiple industries. You will process purchase and sales ledgers, perform bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, prepare VAT returns, and assist with month‑end reporting and management accounts preparation.

• Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries.
• Process purchase and sales ledgers accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Assist with month‑end reporting and management accounts preparation.
• Maintain accurate financial records for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Liaise with clients to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial processes.
• Support accountants and senior team members with ad‑hoc duties as required.

• Previous experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and VAT regulations.
• Confident using accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage, or similar.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple client deadlines.
