Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established financial services firm in Central London to recruit an experienced R&D Tax Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing specialist tax team, working with an impressive portfolio of innovative businesses across a range of industries. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality R&D tax relief claims, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the continued success of the firm s advisory offering.
As R&D Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a varied client portfolio, managing claims from initial consultation through to submission while providing expert technical advice throughout the process.
Responsibilities- Managing a portfolio of R&D tax relief clients across a broad range of sectors
- Preparing and reviewing R&D tax relief claims, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance
- Liaising directly with clients to understand qualifying R&D activities and associated expenditure
- Preparing robust technical reports and financial calculations to support claims
- Advising clients on R&D tax legislation and identifying opportunities to maximise available reliefs
- Managing enquiries from HMRC and supporting clients throughout the process
- Working collaboratively with Partners and the wider tax team on complex client matters
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional service
- Supporting, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members
- Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and HMRC guidance
- Previous experience managing R&D tax relief claims within an accountancy practice or specialist tax consultancy
- A strong understanding of UK R&D tax legislation and HMRC guidance
- Excellent analytical and technical skills
- Strong client relationship management experience
- The ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues
- ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA or equivalent qualification (or qualified by experience)
