Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a highly regarded professional services business based in Central London to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused bookkeeper based in London to take ownership of day‑to‑day financial processes within a supportive and fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance function.

• Processing purchase and sales ledgers
• Managing bank reconciliations on a regular basis
• Preparing and posting journals
• Assisting with VAT returns and compliance reporting
• Supporting month‑end and year‑end processes
• Handling supplier payments and reconciling accounts
• Dealing with finance queries in a timely and professional manner

• Previous experience in a bookkeeping or finance support role, ideally within professional services
• Strong understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books or similar
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Confident communication skills and a proactive approach
