CLIENT ACCOUNTING & BOOKKEEPING
- Oversee the day to day management of the client accounting team
- Maintain accurate accounting records for client entities and households, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Assist with general oversight of overseas subsidiaries
- Accounting for overseas subsidiary transactions:
- Bank reconciliations
- Review of daily cash position and monitoring of client funds
- Review bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow reporting for multiple client accounts.
- Manage client payment runs, ensuring all authorisations and approvals are obtained in line with internal policy
- Assist with preparation of expenditure reports, accounts, forecasts and other financial reporting
- Assist with co-ordinating client payroll administration and reviewing monthly payroll reports
- Support the Finance Manager and Finance Director in preparing bespoke reports tailored to individual client requirements.
- Maintain accounting systems and digital filing structures for accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality.
- Support the preparation and submission of UK VAT returns and international equivalents as required.
- Act as a day-to-day point of contact for client financial queries, maintaining a professional and responsive approach.
- Liaise directly with clients, family offices, and household staff to coordinate accounting and payment activities.
- Support the Property team in providing financial insight
- Uphold Webster Hart’s commitment to discretion, confidentiality, and exceptional client service.
- Work collaboratively with the Finance, Property, and Operations teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant accounting.
- Contribute to the development of internal finance procedures and system improvements.
- Provide administrative and technical support to the wider Finance function as required.
- Support the training and mentoring of junior finance staff, sharing best practices and promoting accuracy and integrity.
- Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping, management accounting, or client accounting (family office or property environment preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT, and financial controls.
- Proficiency in Xero or other cloud-based accounting software.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience preparing management reports is essential.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and client-service mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- Discreet and trustworthy, able to handle confidential financial information appropriately.
- Collaborative team player who demonstrates initiative and accountability.
