Payroll Assistant Manager | Music Industry Permanent, Full-Time Central London | Hybrid Working
We're pleased to be partnering with a well-established music accountancy firm in Central London to find an experienced Payroll Assistant Manager to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to take ownership of a varied client payroll portfolio within a collaborative and supportive environment. While the role is heavily payroll-focused, there will also be the opportunity to gain exposure to the wider finance function over time.
About the RoleYou’ll be responsible for the end-to-end processing of payrolls for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance and exceptional service throughout the payroll cycle.
The successful candidate will be proactive, organised and confident working independently, with the ability to manage competing deadlines, use their initiative and build strong working relationships across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Managing end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of client payrolls
- Processing payroll calculations including statutory payments, pensions, tax codes and deductions
- Managing starters, leavers, salary changes and payroll amendments
- Completing RTI submissions and ensuring HMRC compliance
- Supporting year-end payroll activities including P60s and related reporting
- Administering auto-enrolment pension schemes
- Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and best practice
- Resolving payroll queries accurately and efficiently
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and strong internal controls
- Supporting continuous improvements to payroll processes
- Proven experience managing end-to-end UK payroll
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, including RTI, PAYE, pensions and statutory payments
- Experience managing multiple payrolls and working to strict deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Able to prioritise workloads and use initiative to solve problems
- Comfortable working independently within a collaborative team environment
- Experience with in an accountancy practice, payroll bureau or professional services environment
- Experience using Quick Books and/or Xero
- Experience supporting process improvements and driving efficiencies
