We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Tax Accountant to join our Finance team and help ensure we continue to deliver excellent financial stewardship across a complex and purpose-driven organisation.

About the Role

As a Tax Accountant, you will be a key member of our Finance team, providing expert support across tax compliance, reporting, forecasting, and advisory activities. You'll take ownership of Corporation Tax, VAT, and CIS processes, ensuring accurate and timely submissions while providing guidance to stakeholders across the business. This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to influence decision-making, support business change, and contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes, systems, and controls.

You'll work closely with internal teams, external advisors, auditors, and HMRC to ensure compliance and best practice across all tax matters.

Who You Are

You are a qualified tax or finance professional with strong technical knowledge across UK taxation. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have excellent attention to detail, and are comfortable building relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You'll bring a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and a passion for continuous improvement, helping us drive efficiencies through improved processes and technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Corporation Tax activities, including return reviews, forecasting liabilities, tax elections, and supporting strategic tax planning.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations and VAT reporting.
  • Manage and submit monthly CIS returns and ensure accurate CIS reporting and deductions.
  • Prepare tax disclosures for statutory accounts, including Corporation Tax and Deferred Tax calculations.
  • Act as a key contact for HMRC correspondence, audit queries, and internal tax-related enquiries.
  • Support Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) certification requirements.
  • Conduct technical tax research and provide practical advice on regulatory and business changes.
  • Support tax technology and system improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver training and guidance to colleagues across the business on tax matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement using digital solutions and data-led approaches.
Technical Skills & Experience
  • Qualified accountant or tax professional (CTA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Strong knowledge of UK Corporation Tax, VAT, and CIS.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns and calculations.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance, reporting, forecasting, and advisory activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience identifying process improvements and enhancing controls.
  • Comfortable working with financial data and reporting tools.
Where you’ll be

This is an 18-month Fixed-Term Contract, based at our Canary Wharf, London hub, with a hybrid working arrangement. The salary starts from £50,000 per annum, plus bonus.
