The Opportunity
An established and growing property investment and development business is seeking an experienced Property Bookkeeper to join its finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong property background to take ownership of a varied role supporting a substantial UK property portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing supplier payments, administering property accounting processes, and overseeing block management accounts.
Please note:
Previous property accounting/property management experience is essential for this role. Applications without property sector experience are unlikely to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and code supplier invoices accurately within the accounting system
- Manage accounts payable and supplier payment runs
- Maintain accurate cashbook records and update daily banking transactions
- Investigate and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies
- Maintain supplier records and respond to supplier queries
- Assist with month-end procedures, reconciliations and reporting
- Set up and maintain property, tenant and client records
- Administer rent schedules, rent reviews and lease information
- Process tenancy changes, lease assignments and terminations
- Generate and issue rent demands
- Prepare and manage block management accounts
- Support audit and compliance requirements
- Undertake general finance and administrative duties
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience working within the property sector and a strong understanding of property accounting principles.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a bookkeeping, finance or accounting role
- Previous experience within property accounting, property management accounting, or block management accounting
- Experience managing property or block management accounts
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations and financial administration
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication skills and a professional approach
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Desirable
- Experience using property management software such as TRAMPS and/or Bluebox
- Experience working with commercial or residential property portfolios
