Financial Reporting Accountant

We are working with a specialty insurer to recruit a Financial Reporting Accountant to join their London-based finance team. This role sits within a controllership environment and offers strong exposure to financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and client money oversight within a fast-paced insurance business. The position requires a proactive individual who can challenge existing processes and contribute to continuous improvement across the finance function.

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Assist in preparation of statutory accounts and financial reporting
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls
• Provide analysis to support capital planning and decision-making
• Assist with group reporting and liaise with international finance teams
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP, and insurance regulatory requirements
• Identify and challenge existing processes, driving improvements in controls and reporting
• Assist with internal and external audit processes
• Support oversight of client money in line with CASS 5 requirements
• Perform client money and fiduciary reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
• Background in professional services (practice/advisory) with exposure to insurance clients
• Experience supporting insurance, MGA, broker, or London Market clients within a professional services environment
• Understanding of insurance accounting principles and regulatory frameworks
• Experience supporting statutory accounts and audits
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience
• Proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge existing processes and ways of thinking
