Part Time Accountant

Axon Moore is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established business for an experienced Part-Time Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional looking for a flexible role with genuine autonomy and responsibility.

Working closely with the leadership team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the timely production of financial information, maintaining robust financial controls and supporting key business decisions. This role would suit an experienced Accountant or Management Accountant seeking a flexible working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly management accounts and associated financial reports. Manage the month-end process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations. Maintain accurate financial records and oversee the day-to-day accounting function. Complete bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations. Manage the purchase ledger, supplier payments and cash flow. Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with statutory obligations. Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.

Liaise with external accountants, auditors and other professional advisers. Support payroll administration where required. Review and improve financial processes, controls and reporting. Provide financial insight and ad hoc analysis to support business performance. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial procedures. Person Specification The successful candidate will be a proactive and organised finance professional with the confidence to work independently and manage a varied workload.

You will ideally possess:
Previous experience in an accounting or finance role with responsibility for producing management accounts. Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of month-end processes.

Experience of bookkeeping, VAT returns and balance sheet reconciliations. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business. A proactive approach with the ability to identify improvements and add value. AAT qualified, part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by experience. What's on Offer Flexible part-time working hours.
