Position: Payroll Assistant (Full or Part Time)
Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are supporting a local employer in Halifax who are looking for a payroll clerk to join the team working over 3 - 5 days, flexible to suit the individual. Working within the small bookkeeping department as a team of 2. Your new role Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.

Input and maintain payroll data including new starters, leavers, salary changes and employee benefits. Process overtime, shift allowances, bonuses, holiday pay, sickness absence and statutory payments. Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines. Support pension administration, including employee enrolment and contribution processing. Maintain payroll records in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements. Collect and validate timesheet and clocking data.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to hours worked, overtime and absence records. Liaise with managers to ensure payroll information is submitted accurately and on time. Assist with HMRC submissions and payroll compliance activities. Support year-end payroll processes, including P60s and other statutory reporting requirements. What you'll need to succeed You will have proven payroll expertise, ideally with end-to-end payroll processing and seeking a full or part-time role in Halifax, as this will be an office-based role working 3 - 5 days a week.

You will need to have experience with Sage Payroll What you'll get in return The business offers a salary range of £26,000 - £30,000 (pro rata if part-time), depending on experience.
