You'll join a collaborative finance team focused on maximising cash collection, resolving queries efficiently and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
The Role Reporting into the Credit Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of accounts, ensuring outstanding debt is collected in a timely and professional manner while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the end-to-end credit control process across a high-volume ledger. Chasing outstanding debt via phone, email and written correspondence. Building strong working relationships with Local Authorities, NHS Trusts and internal stakeholders. Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries to minimise delays in collection. Allocating cash and credit notes accurately. Performing detailed account reconciliations. Maintaining accurate records of collection activity and debt recovery actions.
Producing regular updates on aged debt and collection performance. Supporting continuous improvement within the credit control function. About You You'll be an experienced Credit Controller with excellent communication skills and a methodical approach to problem solving. You'll ideally have:
Proven end-to-end credit control experience. Previous experience collecting debt from Local Authorities and/or NHS organisations (essential). Strong reconciliation and cash allocation skills. Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. The ability to build relationships while confidently managing difficult conversations. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
