You’ll play an important role in ensuring stock is managed effectively, suppliers are supported and financial records remain accurate and up to date. What will you be doing?
Your role will be varied, with responsibilities across purchasing, stock management and accounts payable, including:
Monitoring and maintaining stock levels to ensure the business has the inventory it needs. Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records. Coordinating the receipt, storage and movement of goods. Raising and processing purchase orders in line with company procedures. Sourcing goods from approved suppliers, considering price, quality and availability. Monitoring supplier lead times and following up on outstanding orders. Building strong relationships with suppliers and dealing with queries relating to deliveries, pricing, shortages and availability.
Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently. Matching invoices against purchase orders and delivery documentation. Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies and queries. Reconciling supplier statements and ensuring accounts are accurate. Supporting month-end processes and financial reporting. Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure purchasing, stock and finance processes run efficiently. What are we looking for? We’re looking for someone who is naturally organised, enjoys working with numbers and takes pride in getting the detail right.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Previous experience in purchasing, stock control, purchase ledger or a similar finance/administration role. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Good numeracy and literacy skills. Confidence using Microsoft Excel and accounting/finance systems. The ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve queries professionally. The confidence to communicate effectively with both suppliers and internal teams.
The ability to work independently while also being a proactive team player. AAT or an equivalent qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
