Office Based Are you looking to take your first step into a career in accountancy or are you an existing Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant seeking a new opportunity within practice? Our client, a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Kent, is looking to recruit a Bookkeeper to join their team in Ashford. Supporting a diverse portfolio of businesses across Kent, they provide a comprehensive range of tax, accountancy and business advisory services.

They are far more than just accountants; they work closely with clients to help them grow and develop their businesses, offering practical advice and ongoing support across a variety of industries. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take their first step into accountancy, or for an existing Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant seeking to further develop their skills within a supportive and professional practice environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
Processing purchase and sales invoices. Maintaining accurate financial records for a diverse range of clients. Conducting bank reconciliations and monitoring client accounts. Assisting with the preparation and submission of VAT returns. Posting receipts, payments, and journal entries. Handling expenses and petty cash transactions. Assisting with credit control and resolving account queries. Supporting the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.

Maintaining client accounting records using accounting software. Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries. Providing general administrative support to the accounts team. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Working towards AAT Level 2 or above, AAT qualified, or currently studying ACA or ACCA. Previous accounts or bookkeeping experience. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities. Good numerical and analytical skills. A positive and proactive approach to learning. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
