Job Description & How to Apply Below

Mixed Tax Senior - Music, Media & Entertainment London £45,000 - £60,000 Hybrid Working Work With Music & Entertainment Clients

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mixed Tax Senior to join a specialist business management firm working with an impressive portfolio of clients across the music, media and entertainment industries. You'll work with a varied and interesting client base including:

  • Musicians and performers
  • Touring artists
  • Producers and creatives
  • Entertainment businesses
  • Personal service companies
  • Partnerships and trusts
  • Property-owning structures

With clients often having multiple income streams, companies, investments and complex financial affairs, this is an opportunity to gain exposure well beyond a standard tax compliance portfolio.

The Opportunity

The firm is currently investing in and developing its own dedicated tax function, creating a rare opportunity to join the team during an important period of growth. Working directly alongside the Senior Tax Manager, you'll take responsibility for your own portfolio while also providing tax expertise across the wider business. The position offers broad Mixed Tax exposure across Personal Tax, Corporation Tax, Partnership Tax, VAT, Capital Gains Tax and Making Tax Digital, with opportunities to become increasingly involved in more complex and advisory work.

What

You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing an allocated portfolio of individuals, companies, partnerships and trusts
  • Preparing Self Assessment tax returns
  • Preparing Corporation Tax and Partnership Tax returns
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns

Calculating Capital Gains Tax liabilities and reporting UK residential property disposals
  • Supporting Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements and implementation
  • Dealing with HMRC enquiries and correspondence
  • Providing payroll and VAT support to colleagues across the firm
  • Managing tax compliance and quarterly reporting deadlines
  • Providing ongoing tax planning and compliance support
  • Identifying potential tax issues and opportunities for clients
  • Building strong relationships with clients and internal teams
Be Part of Building the Tax Team

Rather than joining an already established department, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to how the firm's tax function develops. Tax responsibilities have historically been shared between business managers, accountants and external advisers. The business is now bringing this expertise together within a centralised tax team. You'll work closely with the Senior Tax Manager to improve processes, establish consistent approaches and provide a central source of tax expertise across the firm.

As the team grows, there will be genuine scope to take on additional responsibility and progress your career alongside it.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • At least three years' experience in a dedicated tax role
  • Strong Mixed Tax experience
  • Experience preparing Personal Tax and Corporation Tax returns
  • Exposure to Partnership Tax and VAT
  • Confidence dealing with HMRC enquiries and correspondence
  • Experience managing your own workload and deadlines
  • Strong client communication skills
  • An interest in developing broader technical and advisory experience

Candidates may be ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified, although applications from strong candidates who are qualified by experience are equally welcome. Previous music or entertainment sector experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Salary & Benefits
  • £45,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working
  • Competitive benefits package
  • Exposure to high-profile music and entertainment clients
  • Broad Mixed Tax and advisory exposure
  • Direct access to senior leadership
  • Genuine influence over the development of a new tax function
  • Excellent long-term career progression
Why Consider This Role?

This is a particularly strong opportunity for a Mixed Tax Senior who wants to move beyond a traditional accountancy practice environment while retaining broad technical tax exposure. You'll combine hands-on portfolio responsibility with the opportunity to work with an exciting creative-sector client base and play a meaningful role in building a growing tax function.

Culture & Values

My client is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, fostering an environment where all individuals are valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. The firm values technical excellence, integrity, enthusiasm, and collegiality, providing a workplace where professionals can thrive while delivering outstanding client service.
