The Director, Accounting EMEA will provide broad regional controllership leadership across EMEA, overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, internal controls and key finance transformation priorities. The role is accountable for timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close execution, compliance with US GAAP, local statutory requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404, while ensuring effective execution and control of key accounting processes across the region, including financial close, revenue accounting, accounts receivable, billing, collections, statutory compliance and related control activities.
The Director, Accounting EMEA should bring a thorough understanding of ERP systems, particularly SAP, and the ability to analyse and improve accounting business processes and system integrations across the EMEA region.
Responsibilities:
Lead, develop and motivate a high-performing EMEA accounting organisation by providing clear direction, coaching, mentoring and career development that support controllership excellence, operational resilience, succession planning and consistent regional execution.
Execute continuous improvement priorities across the EMEA accounting function by simplifying, standardising and automating processes, including the implementation and effective use of AI agents, while maintaining strong controls, clear ownership and scalable ways of working, including the implementation and utilization of AI agents.
Provide regional controllership oversight for the EMEA legal entities, including US GAAP reporting, statutory reporting, local compliance, entity governance support and the integrity of regional financial results.
Maintain the company’s financial controls framework and accounting policies in EMEA by ensuring controls operate effectively, risks are identified, issues are resolved clearly and remediation actions are completed timely.
Oversee the region’s general ledger accounting, monthly close, balance sheet review process, account reconciliations and third-party service providers supporting accounting, billing and related operational activities, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, consistency and continuous improvement.
Work closely with Commercial, Market Access, Customer Care, Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A and IT to support effective execution of accounting, reporting, compliance, market expansion, e-invoicing, billing and other business process requirements across EMEA.Lead the local statutory audit processes, manage external relationships with local auditors and implement streamlined processes to support audit efficiency and compliance with all applicable standards.
Act as a key member of the regional finance leadership community, model company behaviours and contribute to the Company’s wider business objectives through strong controllership execution.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
Qualified accountant (CPA preferred)
Demonstrated progressive accounting experience required;
Big 4, large multinational public accounting, SEC registrant and/or public company reporting experience preferred.
Strong ERP and systems integration experience, with SAP preferred.
Strong technical accounting background, including US GAAP, IFRS, revenue accounting, internal controls and local statutory reporting requirements.
Broad regional controllership experience, including financial close, balance sheet review, audit support, statutory compliance and accounting-relevant business processes.
Proven experience executing continuous improvement, transformation or process standardisation initiatives within a regional accounting, controllership or shared services environment.
Able to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
