Financial Accountant

Ivy Rock Partners is working with a Central London University to recruit a Financial Accountant into its Finance team.

This is a broad role that would suit a part-qualified accountant looking to continue developing their financial accounting experience while gaining exposure to finance systems, income accounting and process improvement within a university environment.

The role has responsibility for income and debtor reporting across both management and statutory accounts, alongside key reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial information across several systems.

The role

Working closely with senior members of the Finance team, you will:

• Support month-end processes, analysis and reconciliations.
• Take responsibility for income accounting, including the preparation and posting of income releases and variance analysis.
• Support year-end and external audit, preparing income and debtor schedules.
• Maintain accurate balance sheet and debtor information, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Manage reconciliations between financial and operational systems.
• Produce reporting around outstanding debt and support improvements to debtor collection.
• Post journals and support intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Work across multiple finance systems, helping to improve their functionality, efficiency and the quality of financial information.
• Work with colleagues across Finance and the wider University to resolve queries and improve processes.
