Client Manager

Our client is a well-established and growing firm of accountants seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Client Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, acting as the primary point of contact and building strong long-term relationships while delivering an exceptional level of service. Key responsibilities will include:
Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of industries and business structures. Acting as the main point of contact for client queries and providing ongoing support and advice. Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and FRS 105. Preparing and reviewing Corporation Tax computations and returns. Overseeing personal tax returns and VAT submissions. Producing management accounts, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports.

Providing insightful financial analysis and commercially focused recommendations to clients. Supporting clients with business planning, growth strategies, and profitability improvements. Reviewing and signing off work prepared by junior members of the team. Mentoring, coaching, and developing trainees and junior accountants. Ensuring all assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines. Identifying opportunities to add value through proactive tax planning and business advisory services.

Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering a high standard of customer service. Applicants should be ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualified, although qualified by experience (QBE) candidates with a strong accountancy practice background will also be considered. Previous experience managing your own client portfolio within a UK accountancy practice environment is essential, along with strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, taxation, and compliance.

Experience using software such as Xero, IRIS, Sage Line 50, and other cloud-based accounting packages would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, strong commercial awareness, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
