Senior Accountant​/Client Manager

Sheridan Maine is recruiting a Senior Accountant/Client Manager for an established accountancy practice in North London, London. This full-time, permanent post offers a salary of £40,000 to £55,000 per annum. The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio, serving as principal contact for clients while delivering accounts, tax and advisory work.

Applicants should be qualified or part-qualified practice professionals with strong technical knowledge, client relationship abilities and organisational skills.

Responsibilities include preparing statutory accounts, overseeing compliance, mentoring junior colleagues and identifying planning points.

• Managing a portfolio of clients, building strong and trusted relationships
• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts and management accounts
• Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns
• Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting and financial queries
• Reviewing work completed by junior members of the team
• Providing guidance and support to colleagues
• Liaising with HMRC and other relevant bodies when required
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional value and support to clients
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

We are looking for someone with solid experience within an accountancy practice who is confident managing client relationships and working across a varied portfolio. To succeed in the role of Senior Accountant / Client Manager, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice
• Strong accounts preparation experience Ideally
• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified
• Experience with corporation and/or personal tax
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients
• Good communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
• A proactive and commercially aware approach
• Experience supporting or reviewing the work of more junior colleagues
