Equifind are recruiting for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a Real Estate Development firm in London.
This is a newly created role within a finance team of seven people, supporting the Head of Finance and overseeing core financial reporting across the Group’s corporate entities.
You’ll manage three direct reports (Two AP & 1 AR) and play a hands‑on role in preparing financial statements, audit readiness, and tax reporting cycles.
The work is currently done by an outsourced accounting firm and the plan is to work with them to in‑source the finance work.
Key Responsibilities in your role- Prepare financial statements under FRS 101 and 102 and ensure all information is ready for monthly and annual reporting packs
- Manage and mentor three direct reports (AP & AR)
- Advise the Head of Finance on audit preparation and statutory accounts
- Lead the year‑end process, including review of consolidated statutory accounts
- Liaise with auditors to ensure timely completion of audits
- Coordinate with outsourced tax advisers, ensuring efficient information flow and timely filings
- Review tax outputs and ensure compliance with deadlines
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany recharge processes
- Drive operational efficiencies across finance processes
- Manage treasury, including cashflow forecasting
- Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Apply strong understanding of capital allowances within the property sector
- Work collaboratively across the business to support commercial and operational decision‑making
- The company has been going for 30 years in Europe.
- 40 employees overall, with 17 based in the London office.
- Finance team of 7.
- Hybrid working: 3 days in office, 2 days WFH

The successful candidate will be a newly or recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
- Experience working in an accounting practice background and also industry
- Strong technical foundation in UK GAAP (FRS
101, FRS
102) accounting - Experience managing an audit
- Experience managing a team
- Ability to communicate and build effective, positive relationships across all levels of the business
- Pro‑active with the ability to identify issues or improvement opportunities and implement solutions effectively
- Ability to clearly present financial information to key stakeholders
