Practice Senior

Farrer Barnes, a leading specialist accountancy practice recruitment agency, is delighted to be supporting a fast-growing and ambitious firm of Chartered Accountants based in Rochester with the appointment of a Senior Practice Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional to join a progressive and expanding firm that provides a comprehensive range of accounting, tax and advisory services to owner-managed businesses across a variety of sectors.

Working in a general practice capacity, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounts and tax services while developing strong, long-term relationships. As you progress within the role, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your own client portfolio and become increasingly involved in advisory work and other value-added services.

Key Responsibilities Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns Managing a varied portfolio of owner-managed business clients Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact Dealing with day-to-day accounting and tax queries Supporting, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members Assisting with bookkeeping, VAT returns and management accounts where required Identifying opportunities to provide additional accounting, tax and advisory services Working closely with Partners and Managers on ad hoc assignments and client projects Contributing to the continued growth and development of the practice About You The successful candidate will ideally have: ACA or ACCA qualification, part-qualified status, or be qualified by experience Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment Strong experience across accounts preparation and taxation Excellent communication and client relationship management skills A proactive, commercial and solutions-focused approach The confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues The ambition to develop a portfolio of clients and progress your career within a growing practice What's on Offer £45,000 – £55,000 salary, dependent on experience 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays Full study support where required Comprehensive benefits package Excellent long-term career progression opportunities Exposure to advisory work and a broad range of clients A collaborative and supportive working environment The opportunity to play a key role within a rapidly growing accountancy practice If you are an experienced practice accountant looking for a role that offers genuine progression, increased client responsibility and the opportunity to broaden your advisory experience, Farrer Barnes would be pleased to hear from you.
