Volta is building AI-ready data centre infrastructure across the UK, Norway, Germany, Spain and the US, and is preparing for a US public listing following a Series A led by a16z and Altimeter. We will register on Form S-1 and report as a US domestic filer on Forms 10-K and 10-Q. Building the external reporting infrastructure - US GAAP consolidated financial statements, SEC-standard disclosures and a close process that can sustain a quarterly filing cadence - is one of Finance's defining projects over the next 12 to 16 months.

As Senior Manager, External Reporting you will own group consolidation and external reporting end to end: consolidating the group's UK, US and European entities, running the ASC 830 translation mechanics, preparing the US GAAP financial statements and footnotes, drafting the S-1 and the periodic filings that follow, and building the tie-out discipline expected of a registrant.

You will report to the VP Accounting and work alongside the Director of Technical Accounting, who owns accounting positions and policy. You will be central to S-1 preparation and to Volta's first audited financial statements.

This is a build role, and in the first year a hands‑on one. There is no team beneath the role today. You will prepare the statements, write the footnotes and run the tie‑out yourself, with support following as the function scales. If you are looking to direct the work rather than do it, this is not the right role.

The role is scoped to grow. As the reporting team builds beneath it and the filing cadence reaches steady state, we expect it to progress to Director.

What You Will Be Doing

• Own the group consolidation across the UK, US and European entities, including intercompany elimination and ASC 830 foreign currency translation
• Prepare US GAAP consolidated financial statements with full footnote disclosure, for audit and for filing
• Draft SEC disclosures to registrant standard - the S-1 financial statement sections, MD&A support under Reg S-K Item 303, and the 10-K and 10-Q filings that follow - working with the Director of Technical Accounting, the VP Accounting and the wider team
• Own the tie-out process: every number in the statements agreed to support, referenced and reviewable
• Build the disclosure checklist and the annual and quarterly reporting calendar from scratch, and design a close timetable that meets a 10-Q filing deadline
• Coordinate audit deliverables through first-year fieldwork and completion, and through the quarterly review cycles that follow
• Sign off the US GAAP group numbers that feed the statutory bridge, working alongside the Statutory Reporting Manager who prepares the local IFRS accounts
• Own the consolidated actuals that management and board reporting are built from, and review non-GAAP measures and their reconciliations
• Select and implement disclosure management and inline XBRL tagging, required from the S-1 onwards
• Support Reg S-X significance testing and Article 11 pro forma preparation as the site and joint venture portfolio develops
• Shape and, in time, lead the reporting team as the function scales
