Location: Greater LondonCuckoo Lane Practice is looking for a proactive, preferably experienced part time GP administrator (or similar experience) to join our friendly dynamic team to help with our expanding list size.
Main duties of the job
To support the practice team with administration and IT to ensure practice maintains ethos of continuous improvement.
About us Cuckoo Lane Practice is nurse led practice. We are an Alternative Provider of Medical Services, serving the W7 area of London. We work as a multidisciplinary team; the core of our highly skilled team being our Nurse Practitioners who cover most of our appointments and daily duties.
Job responsibilities
Action tasks of incoming electrical Documents dailyReceive and route patients on arrival.Answer the telephone and deal with, re‑direct, enquiries and explain practice procedure.Make appointments according to practice protocols.Accept telephone, verbal and written messages for all members of the practice and attached primary health care team and deal with them according to current procedure.Deal with requests for repeat prescriptions only when regular staff on holidays if required.Under the clinician's supervision, give results of tests to patients.Registration of new patients/new patient health checks as per practice protocol only when regular staff on holidays.Filing as requested and according to procedures.Maintain a good working knowledge of the computer system.Maintain a good working knowledge of windows programs e.g., Outlook, Word etc.Open mail and distribute according to current procedures.
Ensure pathology specimens are ready for collection.Check stationary stock levels and request when required.Photocopy fax and scan documents daily, sooner if urgent.Book transport and interpreters as required.Attend meetings and training sessions.Maintain a tidy reception and waiting area.Switch over telephone to answering service at the appropriate times.Clearly pass on information regarding unsolved problems for the next reception shift.Such other reasonable duties required by the team according to practice protocols.Strictly adhere to confidentiality policies set out by the practice.Use allocated admin time efficiently to write referral letters etc. according to tasks.Person Specification Qualifications
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
Experience
- Experience of working in GP surgery is preferable.
