Job Summary
We are looking for an Outpatient Front of House Receptionist to support the Outpatients department. The successful candidate will provide courteous reception service to patients and clinicians, work closely with nursing and medical staff, manage the booking of designated follow up appointments and work effectively as part of the out‑patient team.
Responsibilities- Provide a courteous reception service to patients and clinicians in line with office procedures, contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of designated outpatient clinics.
- Work closely with nursing and medical staff to ensure that any issues in clinic are raised immediately to maintain an excellent level of service to patients.
- Serve as part of the Outpatients team, ensuring an efficient, high‑quality and timely service is provided, including welcoming patients when manning the reception clinic(s).
- Manage the booking of designated follow‑up clinics and ensure they are booked efficiently; raise any booking issues immediately with medical staff to safeguard patient care.
- Proven experience working in an administrative position with the public.
- Excellent customer care skills demonstrated in a busy, high‑pressure environment across multiple outpatient clinic locations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification.
The postholder will be required to work 2 weekends per month and will be able to take a day off during the week.
