Salary from £32,890 to £36,052 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £38,422 pa inclusive of London allowance

ResponsibilitiesAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join a team in Access Services in the Library providing help and support to staff, students and visitors. Access Services provides many of the front of house and first point of contact services for the Library and consists of two teams, Enquiry Services and Reader Services.
This role is in Enquiry Services; you will help manage incoming enquiries whether by phone, email, or chat and provide in person support through the Reception and Enquiries desk and roaming service, liaising with other teams both within the Library and the School to refer enquiries where necessary. You will assist the Enquiry Services Manager with space management, signage and fault reporting.
The successful candidate will be trained as a Safepod Coordinator performing security checks and check in/out of researchers. All applicants understand that they may have to undergo stringent background and identity checks. Refusal to consent to this may lead to a refusal of the role.
The role will involve some cross team working and there will be opportunities to contribute to the wider work of the Library through involvement with project and working groups.
You will be educated to ‘GCSE’ level or equivalent. You should be an excellent communicator with a proven ability to relate to a wide range of users and academic colleagues. You will be well organised and self-motivated with experience of team working and an ability to take initiative and solve problems. Experience of working in Customer Service environments is essential.
This is a front-facing role with a requirement to be on site to deliver services.
QualificationsMinimum requirements: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of users and academic colleagues. Well organised, self-motivated, able to work in a team, take initiative and solve problems. Experience of working in customer service environments is essential.
