Job Overview

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a supportive, friendly team and is ready to play an important role within our MSK service. As a key member of the secretarial team, you’ll work closely with the MSK Supervisor to help keep our service running smoothly and ensure patients and clinicians receive the highest standard of support.

Our day‑to‑day work will be varied and rewarding. You’ll assist with typing clinical notes, supporting ward rounds and theatre documentation, managing e‑referrals, scanning and uploading information to the clinical portal, validating records, and communicating with patients and doctors when needed. No two days are quite the same, and your contribution will make a real difference.

We’re looking for someone who can produce accurate work even when things get busy, and who feels confident using Microsoft Office, SEMA, SEW, CRIS, Clinical Portal and ERS. A good understanding of data protection is essential, along with strong organisational skills, clear communication, flexibility, and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Experience in a healthcare environment would be an advantage, but just as important is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Main duties of the job
  • This job is about helping a busy medical team by doing important office work.
  • You will type letters and notes using a computer, sometimes by listening to recordings.
  • You will answer phone calls and help patients who may be worried or upset.
  • You will help keep patient records safe, tidy, and easy to find.
  • You will work with other teams and make sure messages and tasks are shared properly.
  • You will help keep the office running smoothly and support your team when needed.
