Lonsdale Medical Group is a 20,000 patient Practice located near Queens Park Station with a team of clinicians and administrative staff making up a team of over 50 staff members.
Just off the main road of Salusbury Road, there are local shops, restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops, along with staff parking available outside the Practice.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday and some Saturdays. Your working day will be 7.5 hours.
Main duties of the jobMain duties of the job
As a Receptionist Coordinator, you are the fundamental base of the Practice, and so the ideal candidate would have previous GP Practice (or similar to) experience along with:
- Knowledge of EMIS system; experience in booking, amending, cancelling appointments,
- Familiar with prescription request issuance
- E-consults
- Actioning emails
- Docman
- Tasks
- Registrations
- Confident and compassionate
- Superb communication skills are essential to the role.
- Positive attitude at all times
Hold regular reception team meetings
Liaise with staff and communicate any changes in practice procedures that need to be followed
Monitor phone calls and administrative tasks to ensure workloads are managed efficiently
Ensure reception is always covered to maintain smooth daily operations
Prepare and manage the reception staff rota
Monitor staff lateness and sickness and report accordingly
Work closely with and report to the Practice Manager
If candidate is familiar with the following, this is an added bonus, however training will be provided in due course:
- Clinical coding
- Referrals
Therefore we offer:
4 weeks annual leave (pro rata)
Continuous Professional Development including 2 weeks training as a minimum.
Job responsibilitiesThe following are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
d. Signpost patients to the correct service
e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
g. Photocopy documentation as required
h. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
i. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
j. Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
k. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
l. Carry out system searches as requested
m. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
n. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
o. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the medical administrator may be requested to:
a. Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead
c. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
d. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
e. Support in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently
f. Ordering and monitoring of stationery supplies
