Position: Executive Assistant & Directorate Administrator
Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with Barts Charity, a leading healthcare charity dedicated to improving health outcomes across East London and beyond. We are supporting them in the recruitment of a newly created Executive Assistant & Directorate Administrator role within their Fundraising & Communications Directorate.

Summary of the role

This is a central coordination role providing high‑quality executive support to the Director of Fundraising & Communications, while ensuring smooth support across a busy, fast‑paced directorate. You'll blend EA support and event/meeting organisation to keep priorities moving. Executive Assistant & Directorate Administrator
Salary: £36,000-£40,000 per annum

Contract:

12‑month FTC

Location:

Farringdon
Hybrid working: 2 days in the office (Tuesdays & Wednesdays), 3 days from home

Hours:

37.5 hours per week, core hours 10am-4pm
Department:
Fundraising & Communications

Reports to:

Head of Fundraising Operations, with daily support to the Director of Fundraising & Communications Responsibilities

Executive support to the Director, including diary management, meeting preparation, minutes, inbox coordination and workflow tracking
Directorate coordination, ensuring planning cycles, reporting processes and team meetings run smoothly
Maintaining accurate shared systems, trackers and documentation
Supporting prospecting and stewardship activity across fundraising teams
Coordinating internal events, workshops and team sessions
Providing administrative support
Acting as a central point of contact across fundraising, communications, and hospital partners

About you

Strong organisation and time‑management skills
Clear, confident written and verbal communication
Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders
High level of attention to detail and professionalism
Strong relationship‑building skills
Confident using Microsoft Office, Teams and shared systems Essential

Experience supporting a senior leader (diary, meetings, admin)
Experience in team administration or coordination roles
Experience organising meetings, events or engagement activity
Experience working across multiple teams in a complex organisation
