School Administrator / Receptionist / Attendance Officer
We are seeking an organised, professional, and proactive School Administrator / Receptionist / Attendance Officer to join our school community. This role serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors while providing administrative support and managing attendance processes to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the school.
Key Responsibilities Reception & Front Office- Welcome and assist visitors, parents, students, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
- Manage incoming telephone calls, emails, and enquiries.
- Maintain visitor sign-in procedures and safeguarding protocols.
- Handle incoming and outgoing post and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate student and staff records within the school's management information system.
- Prepare letters, reports, newsletters, and other school communications.
- Support the organisation of school events, meetings, and parent evenings.
- Manage stationery and office supply orders.
- Monitor daily student attendance and punctuality.
- Record, track, and update attendance information accurately.
- Contact parents/carers regarding student absences and lateness.
- Ensure attendance records comply with school and statutory requirements.
- Support admissions and enrolment administration when required.
- Assist with first aid administration (training provided if necessary).
- Undertake additional administrative duties as directed by the School Business Manager or Headteacher.
- Previous experience in an administrative, receptionist, or customer service role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience working within a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar.
- Understanding of school attendance procedures and safeguarding practices.
- First Aid qualification.
