St Martin-in-the-Fields (SMITF) is located in the heart of London on Trafalgar Square and we are a place for everyone to worship, reflect, relax, meet, eat and drink, enjoy the arts and much more. The church is a 300‑year‑old architectural jewel. We have iconic spaces that attract hundreds of thousands of people to our site each year. St Martin's has five boards, overseeing each of the five principal branches of the organisation, namely the Trust, the Charity, St Martin-in-the-Fields Limited, the PCC and The Connection.
We are now looking for an Office Administrator (3 days per week, 0.6 FTE) who will be responsible for providing the administration support to ensure the smooth running of the Operations and Estates and People and Culture teams to enable them to deliver the necessary support across all the entities within SMITF.
About the role
Reporting jointly to the People and Culture Manager and Head of Estates, the post holder will demonstrate a professional attitude, flexible approach, willingness to help, and ability to remain tactful and discrete.
While experience in HR or Estates Administration is not essential, some relevant experience with payroll, IT administration, recruitment and people partnering is desirable. You will be diligent, practical, able to proactively manage your workload and exercise discretion in all you do. You will respond to enquiries in the People and Culture inbox, provide administrative HR and Estates support across the organisation.
Job Requirements- Exceptional organisational skills;
- The ability to show discretion and treat information confidentially;
- High level of IT skills and knowledge of relevant computer systems and software programmes (Microsoft Office, Payroll processing);
- Integrity, high personal standards and sound judgement;
- Commitment to wholeheartedly endorse and embrace the ethos and mission of SMITF;
- Procurement, operation and management of equipment;
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with a wide variety of stakeholders, for both verbal and written comms;
- Ability to respond calmly yet confidently to last minute challenges and problems;
- Team player with an interest in people, who enjoys working with others within a large and varied organisation;
- Sound working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Suite and general IT troubleshooting skills.
This role will be over 24 hours (3 days) per week, 0.6 FTE.
Provides administrative support to Operations, Estates and People and Culture teams to enable delivery of necessary support across all SMITF entities.
