Salary
The starting salary is £36,228, which includes allowances totalling £3,009. The salary is broken down as £33,219 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £35,541. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non‑pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Job SummaryThe National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) Business Engagement Unit (BEU) is a dedicated team with a national responsibility to engage with business and industry. They provide approved and authoritative Counter Terrorism (CT) advice and guidance to business, industry, local government, specific sectors, communities and organisations to reduce the risk of terrorism.
The post holder will work within the NaCTSO Business Engagement Unit (BEU). The role includes liaison with the team, the wider NaCTSO team, the regional CT network and industry across the UK. Key duties are to coordinate and support meetings, events and training opportunities, to arrange meetings and take minutes, to provide a range of supporting tasks to aid delivery of business engagement, to handle telephone and email enquiries, to maintain record keeping and handle sensitive material, and to act as the team’s meeting secretary.
The post also requires managing contact lists for the Business Information Exchange and Business Independent Advisory Group, liaising with event venue managers regarding building access and on‑day facilitation, handling catering for courses and corporate events, carrying out general office responsibilities, undertaking other tasks as directed, and supporting project work regarding the Information Sharing Platform.

- Support project work regarding the Information Sharing Platform (supplementary)
Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required. The post holder must be British national (some dual nationals may be ineligible). Additional limitations may apply to travel to certain countries and additional security checks may be required.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, required to support a small team and liaise with a national network of Counter Terrorism Security Advisors / Counter Terrorism Awareness Advisors and industry partners
- Ability to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Competent IT skills, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Share Point
- Prepared for occasional national travel to support events and meetings
- No external posts or business interests that might conflict with confidentiality or integrity requirements of the role
- Prepared to sign a binding confidentiality agreement regarding knowledge gained while performing duties
