Salary: £26,000–£30,000 pro rata, depending on experience
As an Optical Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering an outstanding patient experience, supporting both the dispensing and reception functions of the practice.
Responsibilities- Assisting patients with frame selection and lens choices
- Supporting the dispensing of spectacles and optical products
- Providing exceptional customer service throughout the patient journey
- Welcoming patients and managing front‑of‑house responsibilities
- Booking and coordinating appointments
- Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally
- Maintaining accurate patient records and administrative documentation
- Supporting clinicians with the day‑to‑day running of the practice
- Carrying out collections, adjustments and minor repairs
- Ensuring the practice environment remains organised, welcoming and professional
- Previous experience within an optical practice is preferred
- Confident assisting with frame styling and dispensing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional and patient‑focused approach
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities
- Able to work independently as well as part of a close‑knit team
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional service
- Competitive salary of £26,000–£30,000 pro rata depending on experience
