Job Description

Greenwich Health, the GP Federation in Greenwich, seeks a Bank Receptionist to manage day‑to‑day administrative tasks and serve as the first point of contact for patients in a courteous and efficient manner.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to telephone enquiries, take accurate messages, and provide non‑medical advice to GPs, patients, relatives, and staff.
  • Provide reassurance, direct patients, and facilitate booking for the hubs.
  • Enter and update patient data in the computer system, ensuring accurate tracking and necessary transport arrangements for discharge/transfer and follow‑up clinics.
  • Perform clerical duties as required and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Open and close premises.
  • Refer site‑management issues and complaints to appropriate departments.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety and Infection Control regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge and skills, provide evidence of competence, and seek advice when needed.
Qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Basic computer skills including Windows packages.
Experience
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to remain focused and work under pressure.
  • Understanding of the reception role and the NHS.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection.
  • Experience with clinical systems, especially EMIS Web, is desirable.
  • Flexibility in working hours and willingness to take extra hours when required.
