, we are looking for X3 Business Support Officers for a 3 month contract (with the possibility of a permanent job in the Euston Delivery Company after the end of contract, 31 st October 2026). This is a hybrid working role (two days per week office based - London).

Job Purpose:As a Business Support Officer, you will provide essential administrative and coordination support to the EDC team, helping to ensure that business activities run smoothly and efficiently. You will also help to identify ways in which AI / technology can make business processes more efficient and save money. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, has an eye for detail, and would enjoy working as part of a tight‑knit, supportive team.
Responsibilities:- Together with the Executive Support Team, help to identify AI tools, software applications, etc., that can make the HR, finance, commercial, governance, and business management functions of the Euston Delivery Company more efficient, such as by saving staff time through automating processes. (For example, we are looking at rolling out an HR chatbot to help answer questions from EDC staff about HR policies).
- Support meetings by scheduling meetings with external stakeholders and reserving conference rooms.
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative and dedicated PA support to the senior leadership team, such as diary management, booking travel arrangements, etc.
- Help manage core corporate processes (e.g. onboarding new starters, leavers, information management, expenses, basic procurement or purchase orders, updating health and safety risk assessments), working with shared services (our current HR system) and colleagues across DfT as needed.
- Maintain SharePoint pages and team folders to ensure information is easy to find and well organised.
- Maintain accurate logs and trackers, such as the annual leave tracker indicating which members of staff are on leave.
- Provide flexible administrative support across the EDC team as priorities shift and the team expands, such as staff away days and other corporate events.
- Act as a reliable first point of contact for routine business questions from colleagues – whether through email, telephone, or in person – escalating issues appropriately and helping to resolve problems quickly and pragmatically.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint.
- Attention to detail (e.g. making sure to fully understand a request made by a colleague over email before actioning / escalating the request).
