Temporary Full-Time, Monday to Friday Office-Based (5 Days per Week) About the Role We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Technical Support Officer (TSO) for a Housing Property Services Team in a local authority based in Reading. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality maintenance and repairs services for council housing.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will provide essential administrative and customer service support, helping to ensure tenants and leaseholders receive an efficient, reliable, and responsive service. If you enjoy coordinating tasks, managing information, and delivering excellent customer service, this could be the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities Manage work orders and job tickets from start to finish, including raising, allocating, monitoring, and closing jobs using the housing repairs management system. Communicate effectively with tenants, contractors, and colleagues to ensure a seamless customer experience. Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity at all times. Prepare, proofread, and distribute correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes to a high standard.
Support operational teams with the coordination of planned maintenance and repair activities. Assist with the collection, monitoring, and analysis of performance data and customer satisfaction information. Respond to customer enquiries professionally and efficiently, ensuring excellent service delivery. Support the continuous improvement of processes and service performance. About You Previous experience in an administrative, scheduling, repairs, housing, customer service, or support role.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience maintaining accurate records and databases. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and database systems. Experience working within housing, property maintenance, repairs, facilities management, or local government would be advantageous.
