Sustainability Coordinator
The Opportunity:
Avalon is seeking a highly organised and empathetic Sustainability Coordinator for a 6-9 month interim assignment. Based out of a central London office with occasional UK travel, this role acts as the vital link between residents, contract managers, and delivery partners for a major home energy efficiency project.
The primary focus of the assignment is overseeing energy efficiency upgrades across 120 properties, ensuring all rental homes reach an EPC rating in band C and achieve full compliance with upcoming Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES).
Key Duties:
* Act as the primary point of contact for residents, contractors, and project managers throughout energy efficiency installation projects.
* Collaborate with housing officers and contractors to resolve delivery bottlenecks, complex access issues, and tenant concerns.
* Issue, vary, and process works orders and contractor invoices, logging warranty and component data into property management systems.
* Update property energy efficiency records and EPC data on internal databases.
* Input project performance metrics onto central government monitoring portals (DESNZ IMS) and submit grant drawdown requests.
* Run detailed financial and expenditure reports, classifying project costs into grant-funded or self-funded streams.
* Handle customer complaints and maintain robust case logs for properties where upgrades have been refused or delayed.
* Assist the Head of Property Services in drafting progress reports for committees and executive boards.
Benefits:
* Pay Rate: £22.00 per hour.
* Contract Duration: 6 – 9 month interim assignment.

Requirements:
* Experience:
Essential background working within property services for a housing association or equivalent housing organisation. Experience administering grant-funded home improvement schemes or government retrofit programmes is highly desirable.
* Knowledge:
Solid understanding of domestic energy efficiency measures, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), and Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES).
* IT
Skills:
Intermediate proficiency across Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and client/property management databases.
* Communication & Administration:
Excellent administrative, problem-solving, and written communication skills, with the ability to write concise reports and manage sensitive resident issues calmly.
