Job Overview

We are looking for an organised and motivated Outpatient Clinic Coordinator to support the smooth running of outpatient services. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to clinicians and patients, ensuring clinics are booked efficiently and patient pathways are managed effectively. Excellent communication, attention to detail and the ability to work in a busy environment are essential.

Main duties of the job
  • Coordinate and manage outpatient clinic appointments.
  • Ensure patient records and clinic information are updated accurately.
  • Liaise with consultations, nursing staff and other departments.
  • Handle telephone and email queries.
  • Support outpatient waiting list and appointment bookings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Trust policies.

Job Description And Main Responsibilities

The Outpatient Clinic Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and coordination support to ensure the efficient day to day running of outpatient clinics. Post holder will work closely with consultants, nursing teams, admin staff and patients. They will be responsible for coordinating clinic activity, managing appointments, maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring that clinics are appropriately organised and prepared in advance.

The role requires excellent communication, organisational and ability to work in fast paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Coordinate outpatient clinics and appointment bookings. Ensure clinics are fully utilised and appropriately managed to support patient flow and reduce waiting times. Maintain accurate and up to date patient information. Support outpatient waiting list management and referral to treatment (RTT) pathway. Ensure all adminstrative tasks are completed within agreed timeline. Undertake general admin duties including filing, scanning email and telephone queries.
