A bit about the role

A bit about the Role The Volunteer & Workforce Development Coordinator provides the essential administrative and project management support that underpins British Rowing’s learning and workforce delivery operations. Working closely with the Volunteer & Workforce team colleagues, this role ensures the smooth planning, scheduling and administration of courses, development opportunities and bespoke projects.

You will administer British Rowing’s systems – Just Go and Row How (our Moodle based learning management system) – to
1) ensure courses and participants are managed efficiently and accurately, and
2) to ensure workforce registration data is accurate. This role plays an important part in delivering high-quality volunteer and workforce qualifications, programmes and projects. You will help ensure this support is accessible, member-focused and delivered in line with British Rowing’s commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and respect.

Essential Skills

  • Highly organised, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • A confident user of digital platforms and systems including MS Office, able to learn and apply new tools quickly.
  • Project management experience with strong organisational and planning skills, with evidence of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing financial processes.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and able to resolve issues constructively.
  • Committed to upholding inclusive practices and safeguarding standards.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Just Go, Moodle or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of Zoom, Google Meet and other digital platforms.
  • Experience working in sport, education, or membership organisations.
  • Familiarity with awarding body requirements and quality assurance processes.
  • Understanding of volunteer development and training pathways.
Mandatory Requirements

Responsibilities

Learner and member support

  • Manage Education Team Desk and phone enquiries, ensuring timely responses, clear communication and a high standard of customer service.
  • Support learners through their journey, from registration and course access through to completion and certification.
  • Manage safeguarding training administration for volunteers, helping maximise course completion and certification.

Systems and course administration

  • Administer and maintain British Rowing’s learning and booking systems, including Just Go and Row How.
  • Set up and manage online classrooms, learner accounts, joining instructions and tutor resources.
  • Support course feedback and quality assurance processes, including the use of QR codes and learner feedback tools.
  • Coordinate the distribution of physical resources to tutors to support course delivery.

Planning, reporting and finance

  • Support the Volunteer & Workforce Development Delivery Lead to plan and deliver a rolling 12 month national calendar of learning opportunities.
  • Provide data and insight to support team planning, reporting and organisational KPIs.
  • Support financial administration, including processing orders and managing invoices.

Projects and improvement

  • Support the Head of Volunteer & Workforce Development with projects and workforce register accuracy.
  • Work with colleagues to streamline systems and processes, improving efficiency and the learner experience.
