The Referral & Booking Service department comprises of small teams working within specialties, they have the responsibility for the registration and booking of patients for Outpatient appointments at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clerical Officer to come and join our Patient Centred Clerical team in the Referral and Booking Service at Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust.
- Literate and Numerate
- NVQ2 in Customer Care or an equivalent level of knowledge/experience
- Education to GCSE grade C standard or equivalent or the ability to pass the Trust's basic literacy and numeracy Test Level 2.
- Commitment to undergo training as required
- knowledge of clerical procedures and administrative systems pertaining to the department (acquired though on the job training).
- Motivated, keen to learn
- Reliable, trustworthy with a flexible approach to duties and work practices.
- Good interpersonal skills. Team working
- Standard keyboard skills
- Able to work on own initiative within agreed guidelines.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Clerical Officer to come and join our Patient Centred Clerical team in the Referral and Booking Service at Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust.
Why you should join our TeamThe successful candidate will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive patient administration functionalities within the Outpatient Clinic Service Unit,
Duties include the below
- Some of the vacancies will be predominantly Telephone based and will be primarily your key role, receiving and making telephones calls to and from patients regarding appointments. Standardised scripts are followed, and calls are monitored and recorded.
- Other general patient administration duties.
The post holder will be required to maintain and provide a patient focused confidential, efficient and accurate administration service in line with the procedures set out in the Trust’s Patient Access policies. You will need to be able to liaise with staff throughout the Trust and patients dealing effectively and efficiently with their enquiries.
This post is based es’s Hospital, but you could be asked to work at any of the following sites within Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, Leeds General Infirmary, and Chapel Allerton Hospital.
