Overview

Winckworth Sherwood LLP is seeking a Diocesan Registry Administrator to support the Registrar of two large and complex dioceses within our ecclesiastical law practice.

Responsibilities
  • Support the operation of the Faculty jurisdiction and the Consistory Court.
  • Assist with the legal processes for ordination and licensing of clergy, including preparation of documentation.
  • Handle applications for marriage licences and respond to queries about marriage law.
  • Respond to a wide range of legal and procedural queries.

  • You pride yourself on high-quality documentation and enjoy working in ecclesiastical law.
  • You value building close working relationships with senior clergy, diocesan administrators, parish clergy, lay officers, volunteers, and the public.
  • You have some understanding of the structures and workings of the Church of England and are enthusiastic to develop your knowledge and skills. Full training will be provided; prior experience in a legal or church setting is advantageous.
