Part-time Administrator, St Peter's Notting Hill

Do you have the spiritual gift of Administration? Do you enjoy feeling a sense of ownership in the implementation of systems and processes? Would you be motivated by enabling the church to run operationally at the highest level we can for our community and congregation? If so, this role could be for you!

St Peter’s is a vibrant and growing charismatic evangelical Church of England church set right in the heart of Notting Hill, with a current church made up of 210 adults and 38 children, with a regular Sunday congregation size of around 130 adults and 20 children.

The organisation comprises two parts: the Church and a Church Hall building on Portobello Road (where the church office is located) which is managed by a separate charity – St Peter’s Hall (1991) charity. This role would cover operations across both entities.

The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring our efficiency and effectiveness in fulfilling our ministry and mission. The church currently has a full-time COO – this role would be providing more operational and administrative support, and will require a flexible, hands‑on attitude to work, with a willingness to assist the other staff and congregation members when needs present themselves.

The role is extremely varied, but there are four main strands (more detailed descriptions are set out in the ‘Duties and Responsibilities’ section below):

  • Church Administration (including Events);
  • Bookings;
  • Facilities management;
  • Communications.

The Diocese of London is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME) and disabled people are currently under‑represented among our clergy and workforce, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.
