IT Commercial Manager – Overview

We’re looking for an IT Commercial Manager for our public sector client based in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, or Solihull on an initial 3-month contract paying up to £650 per day.

This role allows hybrid working with an expectation to attend the office 3 days per week.

You will need to hold a current Security Clearance or have the ability to pass it.

Key Responsibilities

The successful IT Commercial Manager will work within a Commercial team to deliver programme objectives and manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for IT and software solutions.

  • IT and software procurement within complex organisations
  • Developing and implementing commercial and sourcing strategies
  • Supplier engagement, market analysis, and benchmarking
  • Managing competitive tender processes including ITTs and bid evaluations
  • Negotiating commercial terms, SLAs, licensing agreements, and contract amendments
  • Providing commercial advice and guidance to internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the Procurement Act 2023, and Cabinet Office guidance
  • Delivering value for money (VfM) through effective commercial management
  • Working with Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Qualifications & Requirements

Required qualifications include:

  • Experience in IT and software procurement within complex organisations
  • Proven ability to develop commercial and sourcing strategies
  • Strong knowledge of supplier engagement, market analysis, and benchmarking
  • Experience managing tender processes, ITTs, and bid evaluations
  • Negotiation skills in commercial terms, SLAs, licensing agreements, and contract amendments
  • Ability to provide commercial advice and guidance to stakeholders

    Knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the Procurement Act 2023, and Cabinet Office guidance
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver value for money (VfM) through commercial management
  • Experience working with Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
