IT Commercial Manager – Overview
We’re looking for an IT Commercial Manager for our public sector client based in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, or Solihull on an initial 3-month contract paying up to £650 per day.
This role allows hybrid working with an expectation to attend the office 3 days per week.
You will need to hold a current Security Clearance or have the ability to pass it.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful IT Commercial Manager will work within a Commercial team to deliver programme objectives and manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for IT and software solutions.
- IT and software procurement within complex organisations
- Developing and implementing commercial and sourcing strategies
- Supplier engagement, market analysis, and benchmarking
- Managing competitive tender processes including ITTs and bid evaluations
- Negotiating commercial terms, SLAs, licensing agreements, and contract amendments
- Providing commercial advice and guidance to internal stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the Procurement Act 2023, and Cabinet Office guidance
- Delivering value for money (VfM) through effective commercial management
- Working with Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Required qualifications include:
- Experience in IT and software procurement within complex organisations
- Proven ability to develop commercial and sourcing strategies
- Strong knowledge of supplier engagement, market analysis, and benchmarking
- Experience managing tender processes, ITTs, and bid evaluations
- Negotiation skills in commercial terms, SLAs, licensing agreements, and contract amendments
- Ability to provide commercial advice and guidance to stakeholders
Knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the Procurement Act 2023, and Cabinet Office guidance - Demonstrated ability to deliver value for money (VfM) through commercial management
- Experience working with Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Contract – 3 months, pay up to £650 per day
- Locations:
London, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Solihull - Hybrid working: office 3 days per week
- Security clearance required or ability to obtain
