Desk Assistant - ICAP Carbon Desk

Role Overview:

This is an administrative entry level role and will provide the successful applicant with on-the-job training and vast exposure to the fast-paced financial markets. We are ideally looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual that can work autonomously and collaboratively in a small team and can think on their feet. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly experienced team and would be perfect for somebody looking to start their career in Financial Services.

• Provide complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the desk.
• Understand the underlying products being traded and keep up to date with knowledge of new products/procedures.
• Promote TP ICAP Group.
• Monitor markets and follow financial news and developments.
• Give live quotes to traders through the messaging systems.
• Identify trade opportunities and calculate strategies.
• Provide trade details to brokers and traders on a daily basis.

• Knowledge of financial products, investment strategies and market dynamics.
• Able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team - either professionally, through sporting achievements or similar.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent attention to detail, can understand and translate data to a wide-ranging audience.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
• Critical problem‑solving skills.
• High ethical standards and commitment to delivering for clients responsibly.

• Beyond being an English speaker, a fluency in either French or German (verbal and written) would be a strong plus.
• Programming skills would be advantageous.
• Experience using financial software, trading platforms and market research tools.
• Can easily build relationships and demonstrates ability to work effectively with others.
• Interest in both the macro and micro‑economics landscapes.
• Demonstrates high levels of energy in seeking out and achieving new goals.
